Removing rank would F-up Heroe's Ascent, even though there are many IWAY fame farmers. For example if you are forming a balanced group and there is no rank check, don't be surprised if the warder brings mending.

Wow..I just got a very rude smack in the face by Anet. Upon leaving the Island with 115k Xp, I ventured to Tyria to finish out my leveling to 20. At this point, I am with 0 deaths, working towards the survivor title. I create a henchie team for the Kryta mission, and about 1/6th of the way into it, I decide I'm not in the mood.

So, I map out via the boat to Kaineng. Much to my dismay, I now have 1 death. If Anet wants to cut down on leavers who ditch their mission PUGs due to this title that's fine by me, but leaving my henchie team should not constitute a death.

Well will the death in the arenas count?

Anyhow I suppose one could also skip it by quitting, then relogging to get to the start of that first mission.

PVP Deaths should not count, as dying in PVP is inevitable. I am about 3/4th of the way to reaching the final Legendary Survivor. My goal was to make a new character and use them in PVP later on.. I have played through every single Cantha quest. 80% is with 7 hench, 10% is 6 hench + one friend, 10% is for missions where henchmen are too incompetent (read pick up spear or urn) to complete the mission, especially with a master rating.

Yes, the first tier is fairly easy to get. It is difficult to get the second one along with Protector of Cantha, mainly because of other PVE players being incompetent. I got used to just telling my team that if they wiped out I would be quitting, before the mission started. A lot of you with these bogus 70% explored titles need to stop kidding yourselves that you are any good at GW. I am beyond rank 10 in fame and experienced in top level gvg play, including participating in the GWWC playoffs.

I have joined a team whose monks refused to use anything but healing (breeze and such). If the other 7 players all die and I leave.. YOU are to blame for it not me. I will survive and you will continue your mediocrity.

I have never left a party of players, there have been a few times where with Hench I have Alt+F4ed out, but I would never screw over a PuG like that. I want the title fairly, no power leveling, and no Fear Quiting.

Survivors? I avoid them like the plague. It screams 'unreliable', which is a pity for the few survivors that are legitamite good players.

I found it actually more easy to do in Tyria if you played it much.

In Cantha when you leave Jade Island you're lvl ~17 and monsters are lvl 20 so it's tricky.

But it Is faster in Cantha.

However, reached my first lvl of Survivor without leaving midgame or something.

So if Togo dies in Vizunah Square and your party drops dead you don't get Death in a count?

afaik loosing a mission because an ally dies does not inccur a death count.

Man with Factions you can solo yourself for the Survivor Title. I got to lvl 20 with just bots. The only quest I need real people for was for unwelcomed guest.

I dont see it as cheating pulling out on hencmen, since they are totally stupid at times, and I think aim to get you killed. When my hench start behaving like idiots I pull out, I odnt wait till im nearly dead, i just see that my hench selection is gonna give me a hard time, and leave them.

Yup, Surivior is easy from the factions starter isle.

My Rituliast got survivor with the henchies and a few guild member groups, got it without even trying. Once on the main land... I got Dragon Stomped x2 at once. "hello rez shrine"

I've not yet encounterd a "Survivor Leaver",
Maybe Anet has to make it so,that you get an auto 1 death when you leave a party in a mission through maptravel.

Then they have to get that reconnect thing to work, and then they can also give "internet unpluggers" an auto 1 death

But alas, we will have to wait a long time before that happens
